Family Therapy

While family therapy is not a specialty of mine, I always find it to be enjoyable and rewarding. It is exciting to discover who people can be once they are liberated from their confining roles, which have previously helped the family function but now keep the members stuck. My systems approach avoids pathologizing any one family member.

I can be especially helpful with the often tumultuous transition from child to adult that adolescents must navigate. We work with boundaries and balance the needs of the individual with the needs of the family. I am always moved when issues and defensive patterns are unraveled and the underlying love of the family shines through.
